Setup: Web Uploading

Many Ensign Windows users use the www.dacharts.com web site to upload graphs using the parameters shown below.  However, you can upload to any web site that you have FTP access to.  Select Setup | Images from the menu.   This will open the setup window for saving Chart images and Property windows

Save To selects either to the Hard Disk or to a Web site (via FTP Upload) as the save location.  Press CTRL-J while viewing a chart to save the image.  This is a nice feature to quickly upload graphics to a web site.

The Web Site Path for the www.dacharts.com web site will automatically update in Ensign Windows.  This is necessary since there is a new folder used for each new day.

The File Name panel allows you specify 4 different file name selections.   Select 'Fixed' to always use the 'File name or Prefix' entry.  Select 'Automatic #' to always use the 'File name or Prefix' entry, plus an incrementing number for each time that you press CTRL-J.  Edit the 'Next Number' entry box if you need to reset the incrementing number.  Select 'Chart Name' if you want to always use the Chart name (as the file name)   Avoid this selection if you plan on uploading the same chart several times during the day (unless you don't mind overwriting the file)   Select 'Ask for name' to be prompted for a file name each time you save a chart.

You can upload Quote pages and News windows, etc. by selecting 'Image to File' from their menus.  You can press CTRL-J on a Properties window, but the OK button must have the focus as indicated by the dotted rectangle on the button.

For those of you who like black backgrounds with a white font, you may wish to press CTRL-K to swap colors to a printer friendly color scheme before posting charts to the Internet.   The printer friendly color scheme uses colors where the background is white and the font is black.
