Study Templates are used to apply multiple Studies to a chart with just one mouse click. For example, a Template could be used to quickly apply a Moving Average, Stochastic, and Relative Strength study to a chart. This is much faster than applying each study one at a time.
Creating and Saving a Template The first step in creating a new Template is to open a chart and apply all the Studies that you want to include in the Template. Apply specific studies on the chart and set the parameters and colors. The Template will remember every detail regarding each study. Draw Lines that are placed in study sub-windows are also remembered. A Template will not remember Draw Tools that are placed on a chart (except 'Daily Price Lines' and the 'Alert Trading System'). To save the Template, click the Templates button on the chart Toolbar. The Templates window will appear.

Click the Save As button, and then enter a Template name in the entry box. The Template name will be added to the list box. There is no limit to the number of Templates that can be saved. Click the Save button to resave a Template after making changes to a chart. To save a Template under a different name click on the Save As button and enter a new Template name. NOTE: You can access the Templates window, while viewing a chart, by right-clicking on a chart and selecting Templates from the pop-up menu.
Using Templates Templates are applied to a chart by selecting the Template name in the list box and then clicking Open. Double-clicking on the Template name will also open the Template. The 'All Charts' check box specifies whether the template is applied to all open charts, or just the active chart window. If the ‘All Charts’ check box is checked, then the selected template is applied to all open charts. If the ‘All Charts’ check box is unchecked, then the template is only applied to the active chart. Click the Close button to close the Templates window (or re-click the Templates button).
Using the Keyboard Apply one of the first 10 Templates by using Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-9, and Ctrl-0 (10th template) on the keyboard. This allows you to quickly apply any of the first 10 templates based on their position in the templates list.
Deleting and Repositioning Templates To delete a Template from the Templates list, click the Templates button and then select the Template name in the list box. Click the Delete button to remove the Template name from the list box. To reposition a Template name within the list box, select the Template name and then click the Up or Down arrows. The Template name will move up or down when the arrows are clicked. If your mouse has a Mouse-Wheel, you can roll up or down on the Mouse-Wheel to reposition Template list items (in the same way that the arrows work).
Sorting the Template Names Place a check mark in the ‘Sorted’ checkbox to sort the Templates in alphabetical order. Uncheck the box to arrange the names in a custom ordering.
Replace Option When the Replace box is checked, the template being applied to the chart will replace the studies that are currently on the chart. Uncheck the box to have the template studies added to the chart.
Sharing Templates with other Traders If desired, Template files can be e-mailed to other Ensign Windows users. This allows traders to share their Templates with associates and friends. Templates are saved in text files in the \Ensign\Template folder. The filename extension is .DAT (example: TEMPLATE1.DAT). When a Template file is saved in the \Ensign\Template folder, the new Template will appear in the Templates list the next time the Template window is opened.
Downloading Templates from Ensign's Web Site Click menu File | Open | Internet Services or click the Internet Services button. Select the 1st tab on the form. Wait for the form to fill in with the dates, which also populates the drop down lists. Select the Template bullet and pick the template file to download on the list. Click the Download button and the template will be downloaded and saved in the template folder on your computer and show on your Template window. read more » Templates: Cross Reference

Q&A Knowledgebase Templates Ensign has a library of Design Your Own (DYO) examples, many of which have been saved as Templates. Download the template so you do not have to set up the DYO to have the example. On the Ensign web site, click the Help button. Click the Examples Library link in the Design your Own section.
This web page is a directory to over 100 examples and should be a great resource to those using DYOs or trying to learn about them. The top table is the directory of examples. Look at the bottom of an article for a reference to the template file that accompanies the article. Example: Template: 1394-Demarker
This 'Template:' entry indicates there is a template for this example so you do not have to manually enter the DYO selections. You can click menu File | Open | Internet Services, select the Download tab, wait for the form to populate with dates and then use the Q&A Templates drop down list to select the 1394-Demarker template.

After selecting the template, click the Download button and the file will be on your computer in the currently selected Template folder.
The prefix in the Q&A Template name is the article number, which in our example is 1394. This is a quick cross reference back to the Knowledgebase article that might be useful in understanding the purpose of the template. So if you are interested in the 1394-Demarker template, go read the Q&A Knowledgebase article. The 1394 would be the name of the page in the database as in this example.
http://www.ensignsupport.com/email/1394.mhtml
The URL root will be the same, and the suffix of mhtml will be the same. You can also navigate to the Q&A Knowledgebase and search it using the menu Help | Q&A Knowledgebase.
