Setup: Connection TransAct Futures
|
Ensign Windows is compatible with the TransAct Futures data-feed. Infinity Futures, TradePortal Futures, Cannon Trading, and Apex Futures customers also use this same data-feed source. The following steps need to be taken to have Ensign Windows work with the TransAct Futures data feed:
- Download and install the latest version of TransAct AT or the Affiliate software. On the main screen caption of your TransAct (or TransAct Partnership) software is a version date. You need Version 4.2.3 or later.
- Download Ensign Windows from the Ensign web site. Click this link to go to the Downloads page.
- Run Ensign Windows
- Click on menu Setup | Connection
- In the frame for the 2nd Data Source, use the drop down box to select TransAct Futures.
- Type in your TransAct User ID, Password, Account # and Reconnect time (hh:mm format) in the 2nd Data Source frame. The Ensign Data Server (EDS) should be launched automatically and the data begin to feed into Ensign Windows.
- The TransAct feed may be used simultaneously with another vendor's feed, and with the FXCM feed. For example, you could have feeds from TransAct, IQFeed or Interactive Brokers, TraderBytes, and FXCM being processed simultaneously.
- A subscription to TraderBytes is recommended to add real-time Indexes and Stocks. The TransAct Futures feed only has futures.

Symbols Add to the Setup | Manager list those symbols that you want to collect data into the Ensign database for charting. Enter all futures symbols with an '=' character prefix. See the EDS program for a drop down list of the symbol universe on your TransAct account. Click the button on the main tool bar to open a quote page. Click the Futures button on the bottom of the quote page to show the Futures market group page. The TransAct symbols will show on the Futures quote page and have an = sign character prefix so the TransAct symbols will not be confused with futures symbols from another data vendor, such as those from TraderBytes, eSignal, IQFeed, or Interactive Brokers.

Notes of interest for TransAct Bid/Ask The Bid and Ask in Ensign may not match the TransAct AT screen. We do not receive the full market depth that the TransAct AT receives. Even if we did, we only pull the zero-eth element of the entire array, which "should" be the Best Bid and Best Ask but may not be. Suffice it to say, we are displaying exactly what TransAct wants us to display.
