Ensign Software - Setup: European futures symbols for IQFeed

Q: I am having a problem with pulling up charts and refreshing for some European futures symbols. I looked at the Help page on the Ensign website (http://www.ensignsoftware.com/help/eodData.htm) for guidance for symbol nomenclature to create charts for some European futures. I went to the DTN (iqfeed.net) website for symbol root, etc., and I can get nothing to work. For example, trying to bring up a chart for the German Euro BOBL on the Eurex exchange, iqfeed.net format would indicate that I should use 'BL #F-DTB' . It does not bring up a chart. Likewise, for the German Euro BUND, I should use 'B #F-DTB' . It does not work. But, amazingly, for the BUND, 'GBL #F-DTB' DOES WORK!

A: I see you are using Ensign Internet version and the IQFeed symbol guide applies as written. You are making it more complex by trying to combine notation for the Interactive Broker symbols and the IQFeed symbols, and that is where you are getting into trouble. The IB feed symbols have the -DTB suffixes. The IQFeed symbols do not. Please stick with the IQFeed symbols.
