Alerts: Auto Remove option of message

Q:  The visual alerts work wonderfully, except for one issue.  About 70% of the time the visual message displays for just a fraction of a second (or just slightly longer). Unless you just happen to be staring at a chart when the alert sounds, it's very difficult to tell which chart triggered the alert.  In fact, even when I'm staring at my charts, often times I don't even have time to turn my eyes to the chart that triggered the alert before the message disappears, and I'm finding it very distracting.

I considered using unique audio alerts but having more than just a few audio alerts in a workspace is too distracting and more importantly, when 2 audio alerts trigger at the same time, only the first is played and you never hear the second.  IMHO, having the visual message alert display for just a little longer is the better solution as you'd be more apt to see it even if you didn't hear it, especially when using a very large workspace, as I am.

Would it be possible to increase the trigger that auto-removes the visual message from 1 to perhaps 3 or 4 ticks so the message displays just a little longer. I can't imagine it would hurt anything and it sure would make locating the chart that triggered the alert much less stressful.  Thank you for help on this issue.

A:  Perhaps you can suggest a more generalized approach for removing an alert.  The 3rd or 4th tick can also be nearly instantaneous.  And it can get ugly if we start to tamper with the message display.  A True Flag is supposed to show an alert and a False Flag is supposed to remove the alert, and now you suggest we don't remove it until the 3rd or 4th time it is false.   So ponder on this and suggest something better.

Feedback:  I understand the dilemma. The only thing I can think of that would be independent of ticks or volume would be time, if it is possible.  So instead of a tick or volume count to trigger the auto-remove, the message could be auto-removed based on time, say 5 or 10 seconds.  I timed myself to see how long it takes me to be able to move my focus to another chart. 2 seconds when not in a trade and about 7 seconds if I am staking or managing a trade in another market.

I suppose that during a real fast market alert messages could conceivably remain through several bars because new bars are being formed within an auto-remove time threshold.  Based on the way I use various alerts and thinking of how others I know are using them, I don't see how that would be objectionable or cause a problem...but until it's tested I couldn't say for sure.  That's all I can think of for now.  Thanks much for your consideration.

A:  OK, the minimum display of the study alert message panel for 10 seconds has been implemented.
