FXCM: Account Information

All Ensign users are welcome to use the FXCM feed in Ensign Windows even though you do not have a live trading account with FXCM.  These instructions are for traders with a live FXCM trading account and for those considering opening a live trading account at FXCM.

FXCM pays Ensign a referral fee for bringing clients to FXCM.   Therefore it is important to Ensign that you designate Ensign Software, Inc. as the Referring Broker on your FXCM account.   The designation does not cost you anything, nor does it change your relationship with FXCM.   Ensign Software is not becoming your broker.   Ensign is just getting paid a referral fee.   This is accomplished by following the instructions given below that correspond with your FXCM account's age.

Open a New FXCM Account
When you open your FXCM account, enter 'Ensign Software, Inc.' as the Referring Broker Name on page 9 of the application form.  For your convenience, click this link to open FXCM's application form (PDF file):   FXCM Application

FXCM Account Less Than 3 Months Old
FXCM will change the referral designation on your account to 'Ensign Software, Inc.' if you submit a one-page designation form.  Click this link to open the form (PDF file):   FXCM Designation.    Enter 'Ensign Software, Inc.' in the Referring Broker Name box.   Enter your FXCM Account Number(s) and print the form.  The signed form can be faxed to FXCM at 212-897-7669, or mailed to:

FXCM Account Older Than 3 Months
FXCM requires accounts that are older than three months be replaced with a new account that designates 'Ensign Software, Inc.' as the source of the referral.  Follow the instructions for opening a new FXCM account above.  Then transfer funds from your existing account to the new account and close the old account.  Creating a new account and closing the existing account does not cost anything and will not change your relationship with FXCM.

FXCM Micro Account
A FXCM Micro account is one that trades 1K lot sizes as opposed to 10k for a mini account.   The minimum opening balance for FXCM Micro is $25, as opposed to a minimum account size for FXCM accounts through a Referring Broker of $300 ($2000 for direct FXCM accounts). 

The benefits of upgrading the account are primarily centered around client service support.  There is also a $5k cap on accounts with FXCM Micro.  All support for clients of FXCM Micro is done through the website, and there is no phone or live chat support available.  The MT4 and Forex System Selector platforms are not available for FXCM Micro, and accounts are only available in USD.  FXCM Micro is essentially a self service discount brokerage for small accounts.
