Setup: Connection eSignal

Before using eSignal you must subscribe to the eSignal data-feed and download the eSignal data manager software. eSignal will provide you with a Username and Password that are entered in the eSignal data manager software. If you have questions about the data-feed please contact eSignal.

In Ensign Windows, click the Setup | Connection menu and select eSignal as the 1st Data Source.

Check the 'Auto Run Data Manager' check box to have Ensign Windows automatically connect to the Data Manager when Ensign runs.   Click the 'Run Data Manager' button to manually run the Data Manager if it is not running, and Ensign will connect to it.   You can select the 'Closed' or 'eSignal Feed' bullets in the Connection panel to start and stop the data-feed.   Several check boxes will appear in the Servers panel.  A check mark indicates that the server has connected properly.  If necessary, uncheck the 'Manager' check box to reinitialize all the data server connections (the boxes should re-check when connected).  If you are not subscribing to Level II or Foreign exchanges then those boxes will not be checked.

Click menu Setup | Manager and enter on this list the symbols that you trade.   A symbol must be on this list for the data to be requested from the eSignal Data Manager server.   Futures symbols will use the eSignal format which is the root symbol, space, month letter, year digit.   Example:   ES H9.   Continuation symbol format is the root symbol, space, and #F.  Example:  ES #F.    Index symbols begin with a $ character.   Example:  $TRIN   and $INDU.

Historical refresh for ticks, intra-day bars, daily, weekly and monthly data is available from eSignal servers.  Refresh from charts or from the Database Manager to download the history.

eSignal can be used simultaneously with the TransAct Futures feed, the TraderBtyes feed, and with the FXCM Forex feed.

eSignal Data Manager Instructions:

• If you have not done so already, you will need to download and install the eSignal Software.

• Installing eSignal software will give you the Data Manager program that Ensign connects to.
