Q: I downloaded the latest version to try SECOND bars. I went to TIMES (the little clock) clicked on EDIT and changed a box to read S30. When the bar comes up, in this case ERZ6, the bars are identical to the 1 min chart . . . just labeled differently. Am I doing something wrong?
A: I suspect you are using the IQFeed data feed which does not time stamp their ticks with seconds. So all ticks during a minute have the same time stamp and end up in the same 30 second bar at minute intervals. The Seconds feature needs to be used with a data vendor that time stamps their ticks with hours, minutes AND seconds. IQFeed has intentions to time stamp their tick with seconds in a future upgrade to the IQFeed software. Last modified 1/17/08 7:11 PM |
