Charts: Maximum Bars for a chart file
|
Q: Now that we have the nice #F symbol on es, I would like to have more bars on my lower time frame charts so that I can have my fib grids and extended drawlines on my weekly, and monthly charts show up on my 1 min chart. You extended the width multiplier for me and that is a big help. But now I am running out of 1 minute bars. The data doesn't go back far enough to pick up the first tag point on the drawlines and fib studies I want to use. Can you increase the Max bars way up?
The thing that I like about ensign that q-charts didn't have is the ability to over lay multiple studies in a sub-window.
A: Press CTRL+P keys for the chart's property form and select the Data tab. Change the Maximum Bars setting. The highest value you can go to is 65530. You cannot go higher. That chart will then be able to collect up to 65530 bars. This will hog a lot of memory and resources. Don't set the Max bar value higher than you really need.
If the issue is that your minute bar charts do not go back far enough when they have 65530 bars selected as their Max Bars then I cannot help you further. 65530 will be the maximum number of bars maintained in the chart data set.
