DYO: Bar with mid-range marker
|
Q: I'm continually amazed at what Ensign's DYO feature is capable of -- the latest example that impressed me was #1168 (forecasting the volume of a bar). Here's another potentially challenging one:
Instead of OHLC bars, candles or other types of bars, I'd like to represent price like this: a vertical line that represents the high/low range, and a dot on the vertical line that represents the median price of the bar ( (H+L)/2). No open or close info would be on the bar. Is that possible? Could your "Ensign Flutes" be modified this way perhaps? On the short intraday timescales that I use, open and close info is irrelevant and distracting, IMO.
A: Toggle the view of the chart bars to Hidden by pressing the lower case B key, or press CTRL+P for chart properties and uncheck the box for Show Bars. Use a DYO to draw the bar's vertical range and use a marker for the range mid-point as show in this example.
