Charts: 60-minute chart has bars every half hour
|
Q: There are 13 bars in each session but there should only be 7 bars per session on a 60 minute chart............9:30 AM til 4:15 PM. By moving the cursor between the bars and it's giving me 30 minute intervals rather than 60 minute intervals. The first bar of the day is time stamped 10:30 and the second is 11:00 then 11:30.......etc.
A: OK, this is what I suspect is the problem. I think you changed the SYNC time on the chart property form. Possibly the sync time previously was on the half hour and now you changed it to be on the hour, or vice versa. The refresh built bars according to the new sync time and these merged into the chart. Since the times did not match the bars already in the file, the newly built bars were added to the file, thus giving you 2 sets of bars. The end result is twice as many bars, each one hour in duration, but sequentially time stamped every half hour.
Solution is to position the cursor near the right side of the chart. Right mouse click and select pop-up menu Delete | Delete Left to discard the older bars that are duplicated. Then right mouse click and select pop-up menu Refresh | Maximum to replace your bars. The refresh bars will be hourly bars based on your SYNC time and sequentially time-stamped an hour apart.
