Q: Is it normal for prices to continue printing on a chart even after the session close time selected has been passed? I have a YM 5 min chart setup for RTH but the bars keep on printing even after 4:pm ET. The next day when I open the chart the bars end when they should have.
A: At the end of the 1st session, we will continue to update the last bar on the chart for an additional 15 minutes to catch the late ticks and settlement tick. This is our attempt to get this data which lags after the close time into the final intra-day bar so that its close will match the settlement you will see on a daily chart. Additional bars are not created, but you will see cursor movement continuing to update the last intra-day bar in the session. Last modified 1/30/08 2:10 AM |
